A comprehensive eye examination is much more than just simply determining whether a person is seeing 20/20 on a chart.  At VISION PLUS, a thorough eye examination includes two distinct parts:

 

1.  An assessment of your current visual condition.  This measures what your visual ability is right now and discussions about how your quality of life might be improved through various treatment recommendations.  These recommendations can include:

  • Cataract or Refractive surgeries (LASIK, PRK, etc.)
  • Vision Therapy

2.  An assessment of your future visual condition.  This takes into consideration one of people's greatest fears:  going blind.  Only careful examination of the internal structures of the eye on a regular basis can diagnose eye diseases before changes happen to the vision.  It is easier to treat many eye conditions early rather than waiting until there are serious vision complications.  At VISION PLUS, we regularly monitor for eye conditions such as:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cataracts
  • Macular Degeneration
  • Diabetic Retinopathy
  • Hypertensive Retinopathy

By carefully monitoring for these conditions early and often, we can help keep them from getting to a point of damaging vision.
